JOB TITLES: Project Manager (child welfare experience is must)

JOB DESCRIPTION/MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
(FIRST PM POSITION) Working under the direction of DFPS Management, the worker will manage the Foster Care redesign project as outlined in SB-218 legislative session 82R and other duties as assigned. The worker will track, guide and manage all aspects of the project including the project team. The worker will use the existing DFPS PMLS/SDLC documents and processes through the life of the project. The worker serves as the primary contact for DFPS Executive staff and will report the project status to DFPS' monthly IT governance board.
(SECOND PM POSITION) Working under the direction of DFPS Management, the worker will manage implementation of several bills that were passed in the 82nd Legislative Session: SB76, SB78 & SB1178 and other duties as assigned. The worker will track, guide and manage all aspects of the project including the project team. The worker will use the existing DFPS PMLS/SDLC documents and processes through the life of the project. The worker serves as the primary contact for DFPS Executive staff and will report the project status to DFPS' monthly IT governance board.
(BOTH PM POSITIONS) The worker will be responsible for but not limited to project charters, communication plans, policy changes, training, testing and day-to-day oversight of the project. The project will involve several internal business units and possibly a few external organizations; good communication and organizational skills are critical for the success of the project. The worker must be skilled with risk management and mitigation to balance requirements, scope, and issues while delivery a successful project. The worker will need to possess good mediation skills for dealing with business units with conflicting requirements. The worker must demonstrate past successful projects where the worker guided and lead internal and external team through a similar project.
(BOTH PM POSITIONS) Minimum Requirements:
Years Skills/Experience
10 Experience with general IT SDLC processes, resource management and budgets
3 Experience with Child Welfare and SACWIS systems.
3 Experience with DIR and DFPS PMLC/SDLC document templates and reporting processes.
2 Experience with DFPS adoptive and foster care programs.
8 Skilled in delivering projects on time and budget for projects with a large number of stakeholders.
8 Strong verbal and written skills in communicating with peers and different levels of users including Executive Staff.
8 Skilled in risk mitigation and management.
8 Skilled in mediating groups with conflicting and competing business requirements.
8 Skilled in guiding large project teams with internal and external resources.
8 Skilled in change management and change readiness practices.
Preferences:
Years Skills/Experience
Degree Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university.
3 Previous work with DFPS' Child Protective Services, accounting, training and communications
2 Demonstration of creative thinking to solve business issues.
4 Experience with managing communications and training teams
