SANDS is a professionally managed company established in 1995 by Dr. L.R. Rajagopal, an alumnus of IIT Delhi. Starting off as a manufacturing unit with focus on import substitute products using DSP & Embedded systems, the company within the first year of operations itself, bagged the first prize for Innovation in the 4th International Technology fair in 1995, for developing India's first hand held computer.
